Pensive Emotions

Haunting glimpses of people,
Set aside, cast aside...
Treated as infidels,
Sinners and transgressors
The one-sided truth
The blindsiding partiality
Overruling objectivity,
Overriding rationality...
Fleeing the only recourse
Abdicating the only way
Yet the world deems
Them cowards and cravens...
Trust lost forever,
In humanity and in nature
Declined by the first,
Deprived by the latter
The hapless soldered to their selves...
If only the world could see,
If only the people would see,
The cosmos enhanced and bettered,
Without anyone threatened or feared...
