Misinterpretations


Her duty to serve,
In any way, in any manner
Their lust, their needs
She slakes them all...
But never out of free will...
The clichéd and the timeworn,
She defines them...
Abused and perverted,
Cast away as evil...
She bears her cross,
She bears the brunt,
Of society, of hypocrisy;
Of debauchery and depravity
She didn’t ask to be a vessel,
But she was castigated to be...
The intended chalice,
Her role utterly transformed
By societal malice...

Expendability


Expendability extends to all,
Each one’s worth – only up to a certain day,
No one knows when time will be up...
None can really say about soon-to be elapsing time...
Is this where the equability of time and tide comes,
A moment spent ne’er to good, the moment wasted forever...
Is this why all want to be larger – than life itself?
Embalmed in the cocoon of swagger, at least in one’s own eyes...
Is this how life’s lived?
With glee and grief, triumph and defeat, guile and guilt...
Resembling characters in a pre-ordained, well-scripted theatrical...

Awaiting...


When words lose their meaning,
When passing time starts to blur,
When stares become blank,
When people around seem not more than cicadas,
Yet the heart keeps pumping,
Senses seem to overpower,
It narrows down then,
Becomes the moment –
Of anticipation, of expectation
Of success, of victory
Amidst the horizon of potential failure...
Each with his own morass,
Demons and cogitations to conquer
Cognizant of passion and dreams
Spilling the last ounce of sweat trying,
At the highest summit of Olympus,
Each athlete wants to be flying...
